On- and off-campus internships teach real-life skills
At St. Bernard's, we believe that hands-on, real-world experience is an essential part of a college prep education. That's why we emphasize internships both on campus and off, requiring all students by the time they graduate to have completed at least one professionally relevant work experience.
Two varieties of student internships exist at STB:- The Junior Internship Program
- In-house Internships

During the spring of their Junior year, all STB students participate in an off-campus, three-week learning experience as part of our Junior Internship Program.
Interns learn both on-site and through intensive seminars, helping them to prepare for the professional world, build a resume, practice on-the-job skills, and network with alums and community partners with experience in industries of interest.
Past interns have worked in fields like engineering, social service, education, health care, business, government, marketing, and more!
IN-HOUSE INTERNSHIPSSTB students in grades 9-12 are eligible for participation in several on-campus internship opportunities, allowing them to work closely with STB staff members to develop critical professional skills and try their hand at various leadership tasks.
Current In-House Internships available to STB students with staff approval include:- Leadership Internship: a crash-course in systems-level problem solving, culminating in students' creation of an on-campus, student-led initiative.
- Athletic Internship: working closely with the school's Athletics Dept., students get hands on experience in team management, helping to support and guide their fellow students on the courts, fields, and ice.
- Marketing Internship: under the guidance of school staff, students create original marketing materials, emphasizing digital and social media marketing tools.
- Technology Internship: students tackle the many forms of digital equipment on site at STB, helping to troubleshoot and manage tech in the building from stage lighting, to sound systems, to classroom learning devices, to computers.
